Bobby Boyd’s Early Life
Booby Boyd was born on 3 December 1937 where he went to his nearby school. From school time, he was interested in playing basketball and football. He participated in different events at his school. His school was Garland High School from where he earned all his game fame. In the senior, he has recorded almost 220 carries for 1719 yards.
Following his career, he was also selected for the 1956 Oil Bowl High School Star Game. And he defeated the Oklahoma Squad. At first, he committed to play football at SMU before joining the University of Oklahoma.

Bobby Boyd’s Career started at an early age. He started his career at Oklahoma and played under Bud Wilkinson. In 1958, his junior year, Wilkerson switched to quarterback on offense where he continued to play as a punt returner and defensive back. In the same year, he led the Big Seven championship. And in 1959, he repeated the same, and got all honors’
In his professional career, he chooses to play with Baltimore in the NFL. In 1961, he started 14 games and began returning punts. At that time, he finished the season with his two-defense interceptions. In 1962, it was his third season when he again started his 14 games. At that time, he was suffering from injuries but he decided to play the games. And he did it by equalizing his rookie with seven interceptions.
He continued his games in 1967 also, we see that he had six interceptions for 145 yards. And in two weeks he recorded two interceptions while returning one for a 30-yeard. He was also called the First Team All-Conference by the Sporting News and All-Pro for Second.
In 1968, he also became the All-Pro Performer. He led the Colts with eight interceptions for 160 yards and one touchdown. He along with Mike Curtis led the Colt’s Defense as the best scoring. At the 1968 NFL, he called for three games. And comeback by winning the NFL Championship Game by defeating Cleveland Browns. It was the last year when he played and he gets retired from the game by becoming the Colts Coach. He finishes his game with 57 interceptions for 994 yards and four touchdowns
After this, he was recruited by Head Coach Don McCafferty. He replaced Defense Back Coach Chuck Noll. During the 1970, he was the Colts Coaching Staff. Under his resistance, the team got an 11-12-1 record. His team got victory in Super Bowl V after beating the Dallas Cowboys. Where in 1972, he retired from coaching. But in 1981, he was again called by the Head Coach to return to the team.
